June 12-13, 2008 - Portable Sawmilling Workshop. Shenandoah Valley Ag. Research and Extension Center, Steeles Tavern, VA. This workshop will cover techniques for using a portable sawmilling, as well as topics related to forest management, marketing, and drying lumber. see photos

August 21, 2008 - In-woods Chainsaw Safety Class. Shenandoah Valley Ag. Research and Extension Center, Steeles Tavern, VA. Instructor will demonstrate safe handling, PPE, and directional tree felling.  Notches, hinges, and wedging, etc will also be demonstrated. see photos

September 2008 – LEAF program presented at the International Union of Forestry Research Organizations Extension and Technology Transfer Working Groups meeting in Ontario, Canada. see presentation (pdf or Powerpoint)
