June 5 - Virginia Division of the Society of American Foresters Field-trip. Montpelier Landmark and Demonstration Forests Program brochure.

June 12-13 - Portable Sawmilling Workshop. Shenandoah Valley Ag. Research and Extension Center, Steeles Tavern, VA. This workshop will cover techniques for using a portable sawmilling, as well as topics related to forest management, marketing, and drying lumber. 

August 21 - In-woods Chainsaw Safety Class. Shenandoah Valley Ag. Research and Extension Center, Steeles Tavern, VA. Instructor will demonstrate safe handling, PPE, and directional tree felling.  Notches, hinges, and wedging, etc will also be demonstrated. 

September 4 - Hardwood Silviculture for Foresters. Shenandoah Valley Ag. Research and Extension Center, Steeles Tavern, VA. Foresters will learn about advanced silviculture and prescribing treatments based on site and individual tree species.
