Extension throughout the world has evolved to include multiple partners and stakeholders in the delivery of educational programs and technical assistance. Often the end users, such as farmers and forest owners, are participants in both the research endeavor, as well as the extension of research results. Communication strategies among all participants in extension are more important than ever. This symposium will explore this subject through invited lectures, volunteered papers, posters, tours, discussions, and deliberations with FAO officials. Under the general topic of “communication strategies,” presentations may be grouped into one of the following categories:
Contributions from all persons and organizations involved in forestry or agroforestry extension, such as extension professionals, development workers, researchers, officials and decision makers, both government and nongovernment, and the private sector, are welcome. Please submit your presentation title, abstract (300-word limit), and preliminary registration form to Roland Beck (contact information below) by May 1st.
Papers will be published in CD format and posted on the World Wide Web. Registered persons will receive further information in May 2004.
