Trees are typically felled by chainsaw on steep slopes. However, if successful, mechanized felling can be advantageous for both safety and productivity reasons. To work on steep terrain the machine must have tracks, and a self-leveling cab makes operations much more comfortable for the operator. Typically just a short boom is used to avoid increasing the risk of tipping the machine over. |
