Overview:
4-H members can participate in American chestnut restoration efforts by planting and recording survival of chestnut seeds and seedlings. 4-H clubs are encouraged to join the Virginia Tech affiliated American Chestnut Cooperators Foundation (ACCF), which provides to growers a limited number of free blight-resistant seed nuts, and seedlings at cost. Membership in ACCF is $20. Seed nuts must be ordered by Oct. 15. Seedlings are $40 for 50 or fewer and may be ordered until the supply is exhausted. For more information, contact ACCF.
