VIRGINIA FOREST LANDOWNER UPDATE
FALL FORESTRY & WILDLIFE FIELD TOURS
32nd Annual Fall Forestry & Wildlife Field Tours Series - 2008 Schedule and registration brochure.
The Fall Forestry and Wildlife Field Tours give participants the opportunity to observe forest and wildlife management practices being implemented on the ground. This program has been offering landowners the opportunity to observe practical management activities around the state for over 30 years. Past field tours have visited seedling nurseries, harvesting jobs, manufacturing plants, and both public and private forestlands. All tours are planned by committees of local landowners and natural resource professionals, to ensure that the stops are relevant and informative for anyone interested in forestry and wildlife management practices.
Participants will learn about management techniques from a range of presenters involved with the natural resources. Landowners, state natural resource agency employees, forest industry professionals, and representatives of environmental non-government organizations have all discussed relevant management practices in the past. The goal of these field tours is to inform participants about practical forest and wildlife management techniques which are currently being employed in their area. In order to make these opportunities available to a wide range of Virginians, numerous tours are offered each October around the state.
