Career & Academic Interests
To pursue a Master of Science degree in Forest Biology, focused on
principles of silviculture and ecophysiology. Career interests include
working within the forest industry sector as a Silviculturist or Consulting
Forester, using knowledge of ecophysiological processes to support sound
management of forested areas.

Research Project Title & Description
"Evaluating the Efficiency of a Controlled Release Fertilizer on a
Mid-Rotation Loblolly Pine (Pinus taeda) plantation in the Piedmont,
Virginia."
This project, funded by the NC State Forest Nutrition Cooperative
(http://www.ncsu.edu/ncsfnc), seeks to determine the efficiency of using
controlled release Nitrogen fertilizers on mid-rotation loblolly pine
plantations, by studying pathways of Nitrogen uptake and loss in the pine
stand before and after fertilization. The study takes place on 9 acres of the
VT Reynolds Homestead Forest Resource Research Center in Critz, Virginia
(http://arecs.vaes.vt.edu/arec.cfm?webname=critz).
