Review:
Amelanchier arborea 'Cumulus' is a columnar form of the speices native to the Eastern US. I used this tree extensively in 2001 for planting under powerlines in Washington DC. The trees were purchased from Princeton Nurseries, NJ from stock that was single stem, high headed, and rather tall, +/- 3M (close to mature height). There was concern that the trees would grow into the lines, however to date the trees have remained under control. I had good success transplanting this species, however I have not observed vigorous growth over the past years. The tree has lovely bark, habit, and fowers.
