Review:
Acer campestre is a stout, slow growing, drought tolerant species that can be used below utility lines. In Europe it is typically pruned for usage as a hedge, thus the common name. I purchased several hundred specimens in 2002 from Princeton Nurseries NJ, and had excellent transplant success on the Streets of Washington DC, I don't recall losing a single one! A durable plant that should be exploited for small space uses in urban areas.
