WATERSHED FIELD COORDINATOR
ON-BOARD AT VIRGINIA TECH'S
NORTHERN VIRGINIA CAMPUS

June 26, 2003 -Virginia Tech College
of Natural Resources has appointed
Keshia Cheeks as a Potomac watershed
field coordinator at its Northern
Virginia Campus.
Cheeks
had been an Environmental Management
Fellow for the Toxics as well
as served on various subcommittees
with EPA's Chesapeake Bay 2000
Program, in Annapolis. She has
a M.P.A. in environmental management
from Indiana University's School
of Public and Environmental Affairs
and a B.A. from the University
of Illinois-Urbana/Champaign.
Keshia
is employed by Virginia Tech through
a unique partnership with the
Virginia Department of Conservation
and Recreation (DCR) under the
supervision of David Trauger,
director of the College of Natural
Resources programs in northern
Virginia. "This relationship will
provide us with many opportunities
to "tap into" the networks, programs,
and activities of DCR," Trauger
says.
Keshia
will be working in the DCR Office
located in Warrenton, VA, with
Marc Aveni, regional manager of
the Potomac watershed office.
