As you balance the tree gently on the packed mound in the center, shovel in dirt around the sides. Occassionally pat the dirt down. Repeat until the dirt is even to the edge of the hole and the top most root is covered. Build a three inch berm around that edge, this keeps water in place while it soaks to the roots.
