Sweetgum

Sweetgum is common in the Coastal Plain and Piedmont sections of Virginia and the southeastern U.S. It is only used to a small extent by wildlife. At least seven species of insects feed on the leaves of sweetgum, including the forest tent caterpillar and luna moth.
