Objectives:

Describe the process of photosynthesis and how it enables a plant to survive

Resources:
Virginia Tech's Forestry Outreach Site has a student section on photosynthesis, "How a Tree Grows- a tree from the air." This section also includes a graph of rising atmospheric CO2 which shows the global contribution of photosynthesis to the earth's CO2 balance.
