A Remarkable American elm
| Tree

| Common Name: American elm | |
| Scientific
name: Ulmus americana

Category:
Beautiful tree
Notes: This tree was remembered as a fairly large tree in the late 70s. It is about 80 ft. tall, 90 ft. dripline, and 3 ft. DBH, and appears to have never been pruned from above. It appears to be extremely resistant to Dutch elm disease (DED), and has never been treated for DED. Unfortunately for the tree it is in a very limited access area, out of public view, and is slated for removal in order to build a coal tower for the heating plant. |
