Notes: The house "Taylor's Creek" was built around 1732 by William Morris in Hanover County. It is believed that this elm may have been planted around that time or possibly not until about 1750. Most of the elms on the property have succombed to dutch elm disease. This tree has been treated for protection against dutch elm for approximatly 20 years. Not only is this tree majestic and beautiful, but it is of immense value to the house itself providing shade from the afternoon sun. |
