Notes: This is the second largest sycamore in Virginia and is located on the old McDonald Mill site outside of Blacksburg. McDonald Mill is an early settlement on the old Catawba Rd. linking the Roanoke River Valley and points west, an historic roadway. The tree was originally nominated as a big tree by the Blacksburg Mountain 4-H Club. |
