Virginia Big Tree Program

This champion Bumelia Buckthorn, Sideroxylon lycioides, was jointly nominated by Byron Carmean, Dr. Donna Ware, and Gary Flemming. Located near the junction of Grove Creek and the James River in James City County, this champion is healthy and in no danger of construction. The tree is the property of the City of Williamsburg.

This champ has a circumference of 20 inches, a height of 26 feet, and an average crown spread of 16 feet - giving a final score of 50 points!
